The back story: Established in 1929 as a national monument by President Hoover; it didn’t become Arches national park until 1971. It was then they permanently mapped out this red rock wonderland. It is well known for its over 2000 natural sandstone arches such as the massive red-hued delicate arch in the east and long, thin landscrape arch in Devils Garden to the north.
